Twitter as a backchannel for presentation feedback

You can use Twitter as a back channel to receive feedback while making presentations using Live Presentations in a conference-type setting. The main advantage of using this instead of requiring audience members to vocally ask the presenter questions is that it is a peripheral interruption that the presenter can pay attention to or ignore as per the imperatives of the presentation situation.

Twitter feedback appear in a scrolling bar below your presentation in slideshow mode and the presenter has the option to turn this on or off at any point of time.

How this works

  1. When you start a presentation in slideshow mode, you can see a button that says "Switch Twitter channel on" on the navigation bar
  2. Click on this button to accept feedback through Twitter - please note that you need to be online for this to work.
  3. You will see a scrolling bar appear above the slideshow navigation bar prefixed with a document number.
  4. For audience members to send you feedback, they need to send a message in the form:

    @LiveDocs #<document number> <message text>

  5. For instance, if the document number is 1134345, a sample message would be as follows:
    @LiveDocs #1134345 Could you please slow down?

All messages appear in the scrolling bar and the presenter has the option to respond to any message and turn this on or off at any point of time . We hope you find this feature useful. If you face any issues using this feature or require assistance, please drop us a line at support@instacoll.com.
